My name is Hannah Halvorsen and I am an 19-year old cross-country skier from Truckee, California. This is my second year on the US Ski Team. This season, I will train in hopes to qualify for and compete in the World Junior Championships, which will be held in Switzerland. My goal is to represent team USA with a medal at this event and to continue on to represent the United States at the Olympic Games someday. Please support my ski career and goals by joining my Rally and help me raise $10,000!
Why I'm Raising Funds
Cross Country Skiing is an expensive sport. I am on the US Development Ski Team, but am not a fully funded athlete and must finance my travel, camp fees, competition fees, lodging, and training expenses. I am hoping to afford these expenses through working and fundraising so I can continue pursuing and achieving my goals!

I was introduced to skiing through my parents who put me on skis around two years old. When I was thirteen I began racing for the cross country team at Alder Creek Middle School in Truckee, California. Throughout middle school I started to pursue skiing more competitively and it became my full time passion. From this point forward I became more determined and committed with each coming season. My freshman year I competed in my first Junior Nationals. Sophomore year I competed in Finland at the U18 scandinavian cup. Junior year I qualified for the Scandinavian cup again and for World Juniors as well. My senior year of high school I was selected as the top female in the US under 18 years of age and was honored to represent the United States in the Junior Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. I graduated high school and skied with my home ski club, Sugar Bowl Academy, as a post-graduate skier. This year I am going to school and skiing for Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage, AK. I hope to qualify and compete in World Juniors this coming season which will be held in Switzerland. I am training with hopes to earn a medal at this event against the top juniors my age from all around the world.
It wouldn’t be possible for me to be where I am at today without the help of my entire team. I have received an abundance of support from family, friends, teammates, and coaches.
Thank you to the coaches of the Sugar Bowl, Far West, and the U.S. Ski Team for all your help training and racing.
Another thank you to Sugar Bowl Academy for helping me balance academics and athletics throughout high school and helping me pursue both to the fullest.
The biggest thank you goes to Team Halvorsen: My mom, dad, grandparents, and five younger siblings!
