ABOUT THIS SPECIAL BENEFIT
NO. 1 IN THE WORLD
Join us in celebration of the VISA Women's Ski Jumping Team, repeat World Cup champions, and 2013 World Champion Sarah Hendrickson.
FIRST TIME IN OLYMPIC HISTORY
Help kick-off the 2014 season, the most important ever. Over the next six months, team members will be preparing for their much-anticipated debut in the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia — the first time ever women ski jumpers will get to compete in the Olympics.
UTAH’S OLYMPIC LEGACY - MEET THE ATHLETES
VISA Team members LINDSEY VAN, JESSICA JEROME, ALISSA JOHNSON, ABBY HUGHES and SARAH HENDRICKSON grew up and trained to be elite ski jumpers in Park City, Utah. Each one was inspired by the 2002 Salt Lake Games. These women represent the true legacy of the heart and soul of the 2002 Games and now they are carrying on that spirit as trailblazers in 2014.
GOAL TO RAISE $100,000
The U.S. could send up to four women ski jumpers to the Sochi Games, but each would need to be ranked in the top 30 in World Cup points to qualify. Their track record proves they have the mettle to make that happen. But to do that, the team needs to attend every winter World Cup (and some summer competitions) to ensure they get the necessary points to meet Olympic criteria and traveling back and forth from Europe and Asia get incredibly expensive.
RECEPTION & LUXURY AUCTION
The finest assortment of hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer, and a specialty cocktail. A live and silent auction features opulent items, memorabilia, and trips, including a Sochi Olympics package to see the women ski jumpers compete.
