My name is Tess Arnone, I am 13 years old and I live in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I started jumping at age 3 during the Steamboat Winter Carnival. I have always loved skiing and jumping. I am very proud to be part of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club and honored to be part of Fly Girls.
I finished the 2017 winter season jumping much better on the HS75 and hope to build on that this summer. Fly Girls is a great opportunity to get different coaching and make new and better friends.
My goals are:
. Compete in Nordic Combined at least through High School
. Qualify for 2018 U16 Junior Nationals
. Get invited to Fly Girls for summer of 2017 (Check)
Fundraising for Fly Girls Camp!
I have been selected to take part in the 2017 Fly Girls Camp and Program, hosted by Women's Ski Jumping USA. This is an invitation camp for the top U.S. juniors. The cost of the 3-week-long camp is $2,000 and WSJ-USA is matching up to $1,000 of what I raise on this RallyMe campaign.
Thank you for your support and check out the cool swag we have to offer as a gift for your support. No amount is too small!
Support Women’s Ski Jumping athletes from our development FLY GIRLS to our World Cup team focused on the upcoming Winter Olympic Games
Thanks to a countless number of supporters and fans, USA athletes are headed towards the 2nd Olympic Women's Ski Jumping competition in Korea this February. After the inaugural event in Sochi, Russia in 2014, WSJUSA has been fostering the next generation of strong young women through our FLY GIRLS program. This will be our 4th summer hosting this successful program. This year we will see 1 returning Fly Girl and 6 new athletes between the ages of 12 and 14 who will be aiming to earn a spot on the future Women’s Ski Jumping team. In addition to the FLY GIRLS we we have nominated 11 other athletes to our teams from Development to World Cup team.
Why We're Raising Funds
The cost of programs continue to grow along with the sport. In order to continue providing world class programming and infrastructure we need the support of sponsors as well as you, our gracious supporters. The 2017 FLY GIRLS camp cost is $2,000+ per athlete. WSJ will be matching the funds raised by FLY GIRLS up to $1,000 per athlete. We are asking all of the 7 FLY GIRLS to raise a minimum of $1,000 as part of the program curriculum. In Addition to the FLY GIRLS, we are including the whole WSJ team from Development which is the next level above FLY GIRLS all the way to our Olympic athletes. Our hope Is that each athlete whom you see in the rally will fundraise for their individual athletic expenses. WSJ will match up to $1,000 for our junior athletes and $2,000 for our World Cup athletes.
Funds raised above our goal of $30,000 for Fly Girls and WSJ team will go toward the overall Women’s ski jumping program so we may continue to operate our development programs up to World Cup and Olympic level teams.
The Deedee Corradini Fly Girls
In March of 2015, cancer took the life of our fearless leader and global game-changer in women's sports. Deedee Corradini not only inspired us, she moved mountains. During the toughest push to get women's ski jumping into the Olympic Games, Deedee once famously said:
"If we don't fight for the next generation of young women ski jumpers, who will?"
Deedee loved the Fly Girls program, building the next generation of young athletes, and believed deeply in its goal to Empower Girls To Never Give Up On Their Dreams.
To honor Deedee's legacy and heart in the U.S. ski jumping movement, we're starting The Deedee Corradini Fly Girl Scholarship Fund. Each year beginning in 2016, the WSJ-USA Board of Directors will award a camp scholarship(s) to a Fly Girl.
There are two ways to support the fund: 1. Click on the "Deedee Scholarship Fund" to the right and sponsor for $500. 2. Donate any amount to this crowdfunding campaign and help us surpass our goal. Funds raised above $10,000 will go toward the Fly Girls Program and the Scholarship Fund.
It's Because of You...
The Women's Ski Jumping movement has persevered, accomplished Olympic-inclusion goals, produced world champions, and provided opportunities for young jumpers THANKS TO YOU! Supporters and volunteers are the lifeline of WSJ-USA and we thank you.
Check out some of the cool swag and sports memorabilia we have to offer as a gift for your support. No amount is too small!

More About Fly Girls
Women's Ski Jumping USA launched Fly Girls in 2014, an innovative athlete development program and branding initiative to recruit and retain young female ski jumpers into a sustainable pipeline from which the highest-caliber athletes will one day be selected to join the National and Olympic teams.
The Fly Girls program is inspired by the ideals and dreams set forth by countless athlete pioneers, coaches, parents, volunteers and supporters who joined together to lead the Olympic women's ski jumping movement in the U.S. and across the globe.
Because of this unique story, Fly Girls is more than an athlete development program. It's a mission with a soul:
to never give up
on their dreams.
