Welcome to My Rally Campaign
- My name is Savannah Jurgensen. I am a 16 year old alpine ski racer. It is my dream to someday become a World Cup racer and represent the US in the Olympics.
Why I'm Raising Funds
- Ski racing is expensive! One season on a team costs $3000, and equipment and travel expensive are added on top of that. There are not many families that can shell out that money easily and my family isn't one of those families. Getting to the US Ski Team and the Olympics is an expensive road, and without support from other places it probably wouldn't happen.
How I Got Here
The past season was by far the most succesful season I've had. I skied through with an injured shoulder the whole season and still managed to ski well. I placed top 3 in all of the U16 Qualifier slaloms, got 5th and 2nd in the GS's, and 4th in both Super-G's. I qualified for U16 Western Region Champs and placed 10th in the slalom out of 80 of the best girls in the western US. I ended the season ranked 1st in my birth year in the Pacific North West. I would've never been able to imagine this season a few years ago.

At the age of two I learned to ski at a small mountain north of Chewelah, WA called 49 Degrees North. They have a small race program there which I joined when I was 7 years old. Coming from Nine Mile Falls, WA, I was more likely to play pretty much any other sport than I was to ski, but my parents loved the sport, so they taught me and my brother. When I first joined the ski team I was excited to be able to race people as I was a very competitive kid and still am. I didn't realize how fun racing really was, but over the years I grew to love it. I decided I wanted to race on the World Cup when I was 10 and never changed my mind. Before my first year of being a U16 I switched to Schweitzer Mountain to race for, and their environment and coaching has helped me improve over the past season. Last season all of our hard work paid off because 6 of the U16 girls out of 8 made it to the U16 WR Champs!

When I was older I realized that being a fast racer wasn't just about being talented, it required hours of dedication to working off the hill also. I started to put in hours at the gym and began to get better and better results in races. Ever since then I have been getting faster on the hill and attribute a lot of it to my intense off season conditioning. I also love to bike, water ski, and wakeboard to stay in shape.
Without my parents none of this would be possible. They have supported in so many ways so I can acheive my dreams. My coaches have also been a huge part of my success.
