Hello! I am Rosie Frankowski, a cross country skier, born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I currently am pursuing my goals and dreams of representing the United States at international competitions such as the Olympics and World Cup by racing with Alaska Pacific University’s Elite Team, a professional ski team out of Anchorage, AK.
This season marks my second season as a professional skier, outside of the NCAA collegiate system. Last year I raced the U.S. Supertour and qualified to represent the U.S. on the OPA (Alpen) Continental Cup throughout Central Europe. Racing experience at a high level in Europe helps athletes make the jump from domestic success to international success. I returned to the U.S. in March and posted some of my best results of the year at Spring Nationals. Now, as I am looking forward into this coming season, I continue to challenge myself to reach higher in my goals and expectations. I have spent the spring and summer training hard with my APU teammates and cannot wait to get on the race course.
What I need
Professional athletics demands many resources and sustained efforts, including training, coaching, travel and equipment. One season of domestic travel and racing alone requires about $10,000 in funding. When it costs $400 to wax one pair of skis for one race, expenses began to add up quickly. My first professional season included racing throughout the United States and Central Europe. While these were the experiences of a lifetime, they also came with a large price tag. Looking forward into this coming season my expenses will remain the same or increase. I must fundraise in order to afford this season of racing and travel.

I am fortunate to be a part of Alaska Pacific University Nordic Ski Center's Elite Team. Under the direction of head coach Erik Flora, and following U.S. Ski Team athletes throughout all training, I have great opportunities for development and improvement. As well, I receive equipment support from Fischer Sport USA for skis, boots, poles and bindings, Bliz Eyewear, Finn Sisu rollerskis, and Gearwest Run and Ski for miscellaneous items. Through these companies, the strong program at APUNSC and a support system made up of former coaches, teammates and ski enthuasists from Minnesota to Michigan to Alaska, I am able to pursue my dreams.
Other Ways To Help
Please spread the word about my Rallyme through any means possible. As well, traveling to and from Alaska requires a lot of air travel so donated airline miles go a long way. Please contact me if you wish to contribute miles to my campaign.
